The pre-season campaign kicks off on February 2 with a fantastic Friday of three matches. Local derbies take place in Te Kuiti where the Chiefs host the Blues and in Greymouth where the reigning champions the Crusaders square off with the Hurricanes. The action is rounded out with a trans-Tasman clash between the Highlanders and Waratahs in Queenstown.
The following weekend, all five New Zealand teams head to Australia to compete in the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens tournament where the Chiefs will be looking to defend their title.

The Chiefs remain in Australia to finish their pre-season campaign with a clash against the Brumbies on the Sunshine Coast.

Back over in New Zealand, it’s an all-southern stoush as the Highlanders and Crusaders square off in Waimumu for the third straight year. Up north, the Blues host the Hurricanes to round out the pre-season campaign on February 15.

The 2018 Investec Super Rugby season kicks off with the South African Conference in action on the 17th of February. The New Zealand and Australian Conferences join the action a week later.
