Chiefs lock Tupou Vaa’i led the way in Round 16, powering his team to a 41–24 win over the Highlanders with a stunning hat-trick to finish as Fantasy Player of the Week. His 95-point performance helped secure top spot for the Chiefs at the end of the regular season and was a fitting finale for fantasy coaches looking to make one last push up the leaderboard.

Hot on his heels was Peter Umaga-Jensen, whose midfield dominance in the Hurricanes’ 64–12 victory over Moana Pasifika earned him 94 points — a season-best for the bruising centre. Reds flyer Lachie Anderson rounded out the top three with 85 points, after running in four first-half tries against the Fijian Drua

McKenzie the Master

After 16 action-packed rounds, Damian McKenzie stood tall as the Fantasy King of 2025, amassing a staggering 657 points — built on a foundation of consistency, playmaking brilliance and a knack for the spectacular.

He was followed by Hurricanes livewire Cam Roigard (619), while Brumbies speedster Corey Toole took third with 606. Ardie Savea, the top forward and fourth overall (599), once again proved why he's a fan favourite and fantasy must have. Crusaders wing Sevu Reece (591) rounded out the top five, thanks to his lethal finishing and high work rate.

Callum Brown takes Fantasy Honours

Callum Brown from Melbourne has held off a late charge from an Irish challenger to secure the title and the $10,000 prize.

Heading into the final fixture of the regular season between the Queensland Reds and Fijian Drua on Saturday, the margin between Fantasy leader “Cal7” and “Colmtalksrugby” in second place had narrowed to 35 points.

Both their selected teams contained Drua forward Etonia Waqa, effectively cancelling each other out, leaving the title hopes of “Colmtalksrugby” resting solely on the shoulders of Reds backrower Harry Wilson.

Despite the Reds putting on a masterclass against the Drua in a 52-7 victory, most of the point-scoring was done out wide, and Wilson’s return was kept to a respectable 21 Fantasy points.

With a total point score of 10,069 for the season, “Cal7” - revealed to be Callum Brown from Melbourne - held on to claim the victory by just 14 points.

"It was pretty surreal to be honest," Callum said after the result was officially confirmed on Sunday morning.

Despite falling agonisingly short of the major prize, “Colmtalksrugby”, also known as Colm Flaherty from Galway in Ireland, said his main goal from the outset had simply been to beat his friends.

“It feels pretty good getting the bragging rights, especially as it can put to bed any doubt about my knowledge,” he said.

“The moves that separated me from the rest were picking players early in their purple patches like Etonia Waqa, Carlo Tizzano and Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens."

Thanks to all who played Super Rugby Pacific Fantasy this season. For all the Fantasy Managers who can’t wait play again next season, look out for an exciting announcement next week.
