The five New Zealand Super Rugby clubs have today launched a special range of jerseys, in partnership with Classic Sportswear, to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Super Rugby.
The Blues, Gallagher Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders and Highlanders collaborated closely with Classic to bring their 2026 collections to life for DHL Super Rugby Pacific, blending iconic design elements, inspired by the last 30 years of the competition.
The commemorative collection honours three decades of the competition, culture and connection, blending iconic design elements from the past with high-performance sportswear engineered for players and fans.
Each club has reimagined significant moments and shared club legacies to create home jerseys that pay tribute to the players, fans and communities who have shaped the game since 1996.
The collections include key items for players like home and away jerseys, as well as an expanded range for supporters, including a cap, long sleeve jersey, basketball singlet, and NFL-style jersey.
Highlanders CEO Roger Clark says working with Classic on the kit, and specifically the 30-year home jerseys, has been a great way to reflect on rugby’s longevity in New Zealand.
“A thirty year anniversary is a major moment for our clubs, our players, and our fans. These jerseys recognise where we’ve come from while looking ahead as we collectively drive the game forward.
“Fans will recognise classic elements from the early days, but the design reflects how far the sport has evolved and we can’t wait to see Kiwis in their jerseys throughout the 2026 season and beyond.”
Classic Sportswear CEO Ross Smart says heritage and retro jerseys are soaring in popularity, making now the perfect time to grab one ahead of Christmas and the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season.
“1996 was a formative year for rugby, and like so many fans, I have great memories of watching the teams and jerseys of that time. Fans are increasingly drawn to heritage and retro designs, and Classic is answering that demand with these collections. These jerseys let people celebrate rugby, showcase their style, and connect with the sport’s history. We can’t wait to see them worn across the 2026 season and beyond.”
Each team’s kit and supporters merch are available through club retail channels and The NZ Super Rugby club online store from today.
