Sititi made an earlier-than-expected appearance in the latter stages of last week's win over the Force in Mt Maunganui and will build on that in the Capital.
Sititi said after hopping off the high-speed merry-go-round that was his debut season of 2024, he took a week to disconnect, go off the grid and reflect before looking ahead to the 2025 season, knowing it was important to back up after a breakthrough effort.
"It's about making the most of it and maximising the opportunity we've created."
He talked with teammates who went through the same process, and they helped keep him honest and aligned.
He did everything prescribed after his surgery. Once he could start working on his knee, he also needed to work on other parts of his body.
"We were lucky to have this time early in my career to work on other things. We maximised that well.
"Then, once we returned to running, that's when I got back into the team stuff.
Sititi admitted to having itchy feet once named to return last week from the substitutes' bench.
"I was excited to get out there, and once I got out, there was a bit more relief that I was able to tick that box and not it's about building my foundation heading into the business end of the season."
An early run with the ball in hand and a trademark offload showed his skills were intact.
"I thought I was in [for a try] and got caught by the wings. But I am excited to be able to be happy."
Now it is about heading to Wellington to play the Hurricanes who produced a winning effort against the Brumbies at their last outing.
"There is a strong Hurricanes team waiting for us, they made a shift after that performance. So, we know they'll be up for whatever's ahead on Saturday, and we'll prepare accordingly."
Coach Clayton McMillan said, "We were happy with last weekend's effort at Bay Oval. We've been building our game, rotating bodies, and relishing the close nature of the competition.
"The Force are a vastly different side from previous seasons, so we were pleased to come away with the outcome. This week will be a litmus test.
"We will learn a lot about ourselves against a high-quality Hurricanes outfit, especially at their house, where they have been pretty formidable. It's a tough place to play, but we look forward to the challenge."
