Coming off the back of their 61-3 win over the Fijian Drua, the signs were good for his side.

"You need depth, you need a full squad coming into finals football to be at your best and we've got a healthy group at the moment," he said.

Robertson felt it had been a clinical display in Christchurch and while the 61 points were satisfying, so were the three they held the Drua too.

But there were some great signs seen during the performance.

They created a lot of pressure, made a lot of tackles and had corrected penalties conceded for off-side, he said.

"We hunted well and were smart. We were clear, and the Drua were brave. They stayed in it for long periods. That's tough, and, as I said earlier in the week, it's a three-to-five-year gig before you start to see consistent performances from them.

"All their systems on and off the field have to be right for them to be consistent so we put context into the result, but also you have to execute so we're pleased," he said.

First five-eighths Fergus Burke, who landed eight conversions and scored a try, had been assertive with the good ball he received.

"He's taken his form off-the-field onto it, and he's done a good job around being consistent.

"He doesn't get many opportunities but when he does you have to take them but he took it," he said.
